Formatting a MLA paper
Guidelines:
1. The paper should be typed
2. The margins should be 1 inch all the way around
3. The paragraphs should be double-spaced
4. Create a header in the top right hand corner with your last name and page number (see Word Help page if you don’t know how to do this)
5. Create an ID tag on the upper left hand corner of your paper with your name, your instructor’s name, the course and the date
6. Center your title without adding boldface, italics or larger fonts
7. Stay consistent with the use of underlining or italics for a work’s title throughout your essay
8.
Do not create a title page unless asked by your instructor
