Bio

Carla has taught a variety of English classes over the last eighteen years. She received her  master's degree in Reading from Oakland University in 1987. She also received a master's degree in English from Eastern Michigan University in 1997. Carla teaches the developmental and ESL reading classes here at HFCC. Outside the classroom, Carla is a faculty co-advisor for Campus Crusade for Christ. 

 

 

 

Teaching Activity

Carla will be conducting a pilot project here at HFCC during the F'04 semester.  Using her master's degrees in reading and composition, she will be combining a section of English 081 and English 093 to create a six-credit "learning community." In the learning community, reading and writing will be taught holistically and interactively.
